I found CCI 115 gr brass practice ammo at $16.45/box of 50 plus $17.00 shipping on a 1000 round case.

Is this the new normal for the time being?

The going price for 9mm ball seems to be approx. $320 to $350, per 1000. Shipping costs depend on the dealer, buy enough and they don't charge. Steel case ammo is a bit cheaper.

I think we are at or very near the new normal pricing on 9x19mm ammo, at least for the FMJ stuff.

I think it's all as low as it's going to get. We've got more than 2 years behind us now of being told to "wait it out", which was nonsense from day 1.

"buy it cheap and stack it deep" today, so during the next "shortage" you can brag about your ammo stash while everyone is wailing about $2/round ammo and 50 cent primers.

This term “the new normal” is quickly becoming another gun forum trope.

We have been through many of these market boofs before (admittedly this one is a three way and unprecedented) but “the new normal” immediately before the November 2020 vote was $8.99 to $9.99 a box for 9mm, and that’s AFTER every ridiculous market boof that has wrecked it for all of us.

And that was NOT a bulk price, that was per box.

I hadn't bothered to reload 9mm for years because it was so cheap it just wasn't worth reloading. At least not for FMJ. The current 9mm price is so high it would have been worth it to reload. Unfortunately, the cost of primers has gone so high that it's just barely worth reloading.
I've only been reloading for a couple years, started with 9mm.

Even if prices fall I'll keep reloading 9mm because I find it relaxing. Yeah, I'm weird.

Some people do enjoy it and find it's a relaxing hobby. For some others it's been a way to enjoy shooting without the high ammo costs. I still have a couple thousand SP primers and a smattering of LPP's and SRP's. When that's gone I may need to come up with a new plan. I typically shoot about 800 or so rounds a month so the costs do add up. If ammo prices do drop I sure hope primers drop too.

Natchez has been running around $330 with occasional free shipping.

I went ahead and ordered from Natchez. $329 + about $21 shipping for 1000 rounds CCI 115 gr brass FMJ in boxes of 50.

At $11/50 rounds I would order more

35¢/round is pretty standard for practice ammo. You could get it off the shelf at your LGS for that price. I would like to think you could get a better break than that buying by the case.
