Has anyone Sued a Credit Card Company ?

I paid off my HSBC credit card and they said they didnt receive my payment. I sent them copies of the money order cashed by them even faxed a copy to the number they gave me,with all the info they requested. I am getting really sick of it,with late fees and interest rates of 28% they say I owe them $450.00. This has been going on for about 2 1/2 months.What do you think?

Call or email you local news station with all the info, And if you are emailing it CC to the Credit card company.
Your issues will go away.
My X wife had a CC company refund her $50 bucks for a return she made, Then the next month they did it again, She called them and told them<<<< Well as a responce they sent her another $50.
With that she just gave up, Took the $100 and never said anything again...
They arent the smartest in the world.

When you talk to the people at the card company sometimes you need to get past the customer service rep and talk with a supervisor or whatever they call them. Problem is that you may get transferred to someone that says they are a sup but in reality they are a member of the trouble team meant to fend off problem callers.
Call the attorney general for your state and the state the card company is chartered in. Some card companies have cards chartered in several states.
For example: ATT Universal card used to be chartered in either Georgia or Florida and Utah.
I like the idea of contacting the media with your issue.

Best way is to look closely at your statement. There should be an address for all inquiries regarding the account. Send a certified letter outlining your complaint & KEEP A COPY!!!!!!! When they don't fix it you have laid the groundwork for all kinds of goodies like treble damages and attorney fees depending on your state and the particular statute. Phone calls do you no good. Forget the AG get a consumer lawyer who knows the statutes and he will make them bleed from their ears-Ask me how I know this-it's one of my favourite things to do

Be warned howeve most have an arbitration clause in the fine print. As of right now the US Fifth Circuit ruled against them on the arbitration issue and allowed the consumer to sue in court, but the Court pulled the opinion and granted an en banc rehearing on their own motion-very unusual-Either way it goes, I would guess it will wind up at the Supreme Court. I suspect that given the composition of the en banc fifth, they will probably reverse the three judge panel and rule in favor of the card company, but who knows??? In any event, I would think the Supremes will take it when it's time.
Oh and Marshal, I have no love lost for HSBC-Had a card with a 5k limit that I hadn't used in a while and those so and so's decided that they were going to chop my limit to $300

Apparently if you don't carry a balance or use your card, they don't want you. And there was nothing I could do about it.

Put your tax dollars at work.
Call your Attorney Generals office.
Tell them your problem and ask for the appropriate complaint forms.
They will resolve it for you in about 45 days.
Been there, done that.

They also kick butt when it comes to cell phone companies not playing nice.

In the end, you will get a letter from the credit card company stating the credit bureaus will be notified of their error, so you won't have to fight with them after resolving the credit card dispute.

They are a bunch of crooks !!!! What law gives them the right to screw people over, call 100 times a day & tell us they will take us to court? What kind of power do they really have ?
