has anyone tried these?

I've not tried them however I did look at them closely. They may be a fine product, especially for <$20, but since the ad stated they are removeable, I take it as they are just "glow in the dark stickers". I personally prefer something a little more permanent but this may fit your needs.

For $12 I may end up giving these a try. It looks pretty easy. My only real question is what the life expectancy on these? Am I going to have to replace them every 2 months? 2 years?

Nitesiters are super photo luminescent, and not self luminescent, like Tritium.
That means they need exposure to light before using them.

"Excuse me, Mr House Burglar, I just need to hold my gun under the table lamp first."

P.T Barnum was right...........

I have to agree. I was going to drill out my sights and use glow in the dark paint, but I want to have sights without exposing to light for 5 minutes. The tritium really are the way to go even though I haven't made the purchase yet. However, sights are out for now and maybe permanently with the addition of the Stingray Laser.

I thought these were a good idea, based on my Beretta 90-two with something similar. (MUCH better in my opinion than this stuff, after only moments exposure, the Beretta lasted most of the night).

Then I got a Dan Wesson 1911 with Tritium. No comparison. Expensive? Yes. But after months in the dark safe, they still light up my life.

There's Tritium, and there's NOT Tritium.

Chances are your not going to use sights in a HD situation anyway. At close distance and reaction you will most likely point shoot. Everytime I go to the range, I will put tape over my sights for about 50 rounds or so. 8x10 paper accurate at 10 yards. Thereisn't anywhere in my house I will shoot that far.

Moral of my story is. Night sights I think is a wast of money.

.357mag--------this is great advice---everyone should train like this
everynow and then when they are at the range. It could save your life.

I think you are absolutely right. If you can't see the little white dots on your Sigma sights, how can you see what your shooting at. . . all the bright tritium sight will do is impair your distance vision in the dark. For HD it's just point and shoot.

I think there are certainly applications for nght sights-- but not for HD or SD.
