Have you eaten Oppossum? Armadillo?

Having served in Southeast Asia I have eaten mystery meat on a stick, monkey, cat, dog, pig, rat. none of it killed me or made me sick. Now beer in southeast is interesting.

I wouldn't eat Grinner (possum) unless it was a last resort. I hear coon isn't too bad, just like beef, but haven't tried it. Don't ask me how I know, but yes you can make more selling the coon meat under the table than you can get for the pelts.

In Kansas, it's illegal to sell 'wild game' meat; but coon, possum, skunk, beaver, bobcat, some others are 'fur bearers', not 'game', so sales of the meat is legal. Beavers are legal to trap, with appropriate license, but it's illegal to shoot them--unless they're causing property damage. Acebow

I love possum. I eat possum every chance I get. And the fat is a great water proofing. Go get yourself some possum.

zzzippper, if you have a young female relative missing she was at an exit ramp on I-70 at Kingdom City, Missouri THIS AFTERNOON holding a cardboard sign saying"Eat More Possum" Truth IS stranger than fiction! Hey, I had not been drinking and my wife saw the same thing!

Never ate possum, raccoon, or armadillo I have no plans to ever do so. I have ate a lot of game over the years and I think some of the best meat came from the two Mountain Goat I was lucky enough to kill. I have had domestic goat a few time and never had a problem with that either but the say a Mt. Goat is really a type of antelope, don't matter to me I liked them both.

Couple of people on here said how greasy black bear meat is. Here people only eat bear that is up in the hills above the fish and skunk cabbage. I have never found them to be greasy at all. Guy that used to cut them up for us his wife took all the fat off them to make lard for pie crust. When they are feeding on berries they are very good eating.

For years I shot with a fella him and his dad owned a slaughter house. They did from 300 to 500 horses a week for export to France. His dad made some killer summer sausage and pepperoni. I ate lots of it, heck it was just meat.
