Hay fellows you guys talking about amno at Walmarts. My friend and I just took a little road trip to Wally World and we found the amno AND rifles. No .357, or .38 but a whole lot of .22. Thanks guys for the info. I love this forum!

Wally World hasn't had .22 since the big football bowl game, don't know what they call it as I'm not a football fan. Guy said that was the last time it came in but plenty of other ammo including .25 and .32 just for comparison.

I'm in the North Hills....haven't see rifles in local Walmarts in years...... other parts of the state but not around here........

Our local wally world has not had any 22 ammo for sale since december of last year after the shootings in Conn. Just win white box, funny they always used to have all the high priced self defense ammo also but not anymore. The gremlins getting up at 5am and waiting for the additions to their stash must be alive and well. Frank

I took a trip out Rt 30 to Walmart by Teddy's Restruant. They had rifles and amno as of yesterday. I live in Munhall, by the Waterfront.

Wal Mart ammo.

It obviously depends on where you live. Our local Wally World has ammo most of the time and even .22 if you are willing to get there by 7 AM, and they have no more display room for rifles which have never been in short supply except for about a month after Newton. Of course, this is rural GA, but it is the same across the border in SC.

I agree... Walmart gets .22lr ammo, it just sells out quickly. Any associate that tells you that the store has not received .22lr ammo in a year are either blowing smoke, or do not work when the ammo is first stocked.

It isn't sitting on the shelf for a week like it used to, but it does still come in to the stores.

I haven't seen a box of 22lr on the shelf of any Wal Mart I've been in in at least two years. I will qualify that by saying that I don't spend a lot of time in WalMart, but if I'm there, I always look.

Won't argue that you haven't seen them, but that doesn't mean that Walmart has not had them during those 2 years.

As I have said in other posts, if you want to see ammo at Walmart, you need to find out which days they get trucks in and be at the store at 7 AM when most of the stores put out inventory. Also use the online tools to monitor inventory. Otherwise, you are just extremely lucky to find a brick at a random time when you just walk into the store.

Ditto this.

I had been checking Walmart and other places that sell ammo whenever I was there for the past few months and never saw any .22lr at all.

Once I purchased my M&P 22 a month ago, I started calling Walmarts every morning to see if they had any ammo come in the previous night. That's when I started getting ammo.. I found that in general it lasts until 8:30-9:00am around here so if I can get a call in and get to the store that has it before that time, then I can pick it up.

If ammo is gone quicker in your area, you may need to act earlier. It seems like they put it out around 7:30-8:00am around here, so it's lasting an hour or more.

There's my trouble!:DI'm on a job a 7am.

Just walk in and walk out. 22lr has been sitting at our wal-mart for over a month now.

I just wish they had more choices than this. Some more CCI bulk boxes would be better.

I bought a box of those. Figured that if the semi autos didn't like them, the revolvers and bolt guns would be well fed. At our local stores, even the Golden Bullets go quickly.

I just checked findmeammo.com, and for my area, I found the following as showing "in stock".

Winchester M22 1000 count - 1 store

Remington Golden Bullet - 225 count - 1 store

CCI Minimag HP 100 count - 1 store

Federal Lightning - 1 store

Winchester 555 - 1 store (most likely false report, this store has shown this in inventory for weeks.)

Winchester 333 - 2 stores

It's out there...

It is frustrating, as either walmarts iny area don't update their inventories or the employees are hoarding the ammo. Walmarts website and sites like finemeammo always show ammo, but never have any!

It is kind of a game. You have to find out if your local store puts new inventory out when it comes in, or next day. Most of my local stores put new inventory out next day, at 7:30 AM. So, I watch the websites and if I see new inventory at 4:00 PM, it will most likely be available the next morning.
