Will work on getting the other side for you, but it doesn't look any different in my eyes. This one and the two Pre 27s were my prizes this year.
 
Well my thoughts, which are limited by the quality of the photography, are it looks to be in very pleasing condition for the typical pre-war gun---as do the grips which could be worth a shocking amount. And speaking of the grips, if they're original to the gun, it was born sometime after the summer of 1935-----and if they are not original to the gun, then the grips are of the same age---and the gun is of another age. And your revolver is generally known as a .44 3rd, or .44 HE 3rd Model, or .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model, or a Model of 1926---but when you call it HE 3rd Model of 1926, I start looking for the second gun---and wondering if it's as nice as this one.

This one is worthy of the pricey letter. Need to know if those pre war Magnas are original (number stamped on right panel?). Hard to say from one mediocre photo but finish looks great if original. Very nice gun.
 
As it so happens, there is a letter with it from 2007. It was shipped in 1938 to W. A. L. Thompson Hardware Co., in Topeka, Kansas. It was shipped with a 5" barrel, blue finish, and checkered walnut grips.

When I take more pictures of the gun, I will also try to get a good picture of the letter. I will also pull the grips and check if there are any numbers on them.

So far, it has been to Kansas, Alabama, Ohio, and now Illinois. I wonder how many other owners there are?
 
Sad news, after pulling the grips, I find that they are numbered about 4,400 above the gun.
 
Not sure it correlates to this Model of 1926, but that hardware store (W. A. L. Thompson) was a primary dealer for the Kansas Highway Patrol for .357 Magnums right after WWII.

Well, as discussed here on another thread this week that makes it "uncollectible." But, I'll be happy to make an offer (heavily discounted for the wrong stocks of course) as a plain old shooter. Enjoy.

Since you already have the factory letter it might be worthwhile contacting Bill Cross (Doc44) to see if the SWHF has any additional information on this gun - perhaps something connecting it to the Kansas HP or other interesting information. It won't cost anything unless the SWHF has further information.
