I am looking for info on the HE45 Transitional model (46-49). I have searched the forum and found nothing. The books say that there was 1000 made.

Craig,
I have one, S2103xx, shipped 11/47. But I can't help with more info other than what I found in SCSW 4th. Your post reminded me that I haven't lettered it, but I'll take care of that tomorrow.

Off the top of my head, I think that one is actually a 45 HE transitional subvariation since with that serial, that one would be a model 1917 "over run" that was later sold as a commercial model. "New production" N frame transitionals are in the S62XXX (ish) to S72XXX serial range, as I recall. I assume too Mike, that your revolver has the so called "mushroom" head ejector knob rather than the later LERK? If I am right, this variation is even more scarce, although all of these transitional 45 "Army" revolvers are hard to find.
