Lew Horton Distributing has some Model 3913 and Model 6906 for sale to dealers. These are California Department of Corrections trade ins. Lew Horton says they are in very good shape. The FFL I work for is getting some in. Will let you know how they look as I ordered a 6906 for my self.

The CS9 is a little shorter in the grip and slide than the 3913, but not much. You lose one round in the mag but it is a little more concealable. The 3913 is however still very compact and more than serviceable.

Robertson Trading Post in TN also has these 3913 and 6906's. i have purchased several 65's 3" in past. Pleasure to do business with.

FYI the 3913's are $329
The 6906's are 299 to 329 depending on condition
That is dealer cost of course, don't think they sell to the public

Wow. I know those aren't retail prices but I paid $450.00 (I think) for my 6906 about a year ago. I don't lose sleep over it because it's in almost perfect shape but still...

Yeah, they have great service and products but I've stopped buying from them because I have to pay state tax and well as shipping costs and it's on the other side of the state so driving there isn't even an option.

Kinda sucks.

Got them in and these are in very good condition! I can't wait to pick up my 6906. Only come with one mag and non-original box. Still a dang good deal!

What state are you in? if you're in Tn, then yes you must pay sales tax. There are some states that require you to pay out of state sales tax.

Robertson Trading Post

John Robertson is an outstanding and honest Man to do business with. I have purchased a few from Him on layaway and He even took one back and gave Me a full refund including shipping. Please look Him up on GA and check out his inventory. Thanks, Steve Sansone AKA kingcobra07

Layaway is my favorite way to buy expensive guns and I've found that the vendors that have the most reasonable layaway policies are outstanding in all of their other aspects too.

I just picked one up off Gunbroker, it's uniquely serial numbered on the right side slide, frame, and barrel with a CDCR number.

It's in good shape externally and great shape internally; appears to have very little use.

Mine came with 2 mags.

I paid $415 for it, which is maybe a little much given the wholesale price listed, but I'm still happy with the gun.

I got a 3913 + 2 mags on GB for $400 after shipping , insurance and FFl transfer fee around $475. Picking it up next week from my dealer. Hope it is as good as everybody says it is. Where can I find extra mags for it? I looked in the For Sale forum and couldn't find any. Any suggestions?

Do you not have a LGS to check with? I've bought a few blasters from GB just like you and, of course, they came with one mag. When I went to pick the gun up/do the transfer at my LGS I bought a second mag from them. I just did this with a 5906 and I think he charged me $25.00 for a stainless Smith mag and $20.00 for the xfer.

Paid $400.00 for the gun with < 50 rounds down the pipe. So LNIB gun, two mags and b/g check, $445.00. I was happy. Like you.

Pictures?

sister to your 3913

Just picked up this 4014 at my FFL's today. It is in mint condition. Came with box and all papers, serial numbers on box match gun, etc.

I did kind of a layaway which the seller was glad to do- sent him $100 upon winning the auction and the remainder within 30 days. Great way to buy a gun!

Total purchase was $350 plus $20 shipping. Stopped and picked up some .40 S&W Rem. 180 gr. target ammo and some Winchester Supreme Elite 180 gr. JHP's on the way home (all I could find today as only decent store for ammo on my way home was a Dick's)

Can't wait to get this baby to the range and shoot it!

You will love your 3913. All of these compact S&W 3rd gens are jewels. Kind of makes you wonder why Smith & Wesson is not making them anymore. Maybe if we keep repeating this, and buying them used, LNIB, and NIB they will listen to their customers and potential customers!

That is a nice looking gun. I would be 100% satisfied with the deal you got.

I have bought a ton of guns from Bud's on layaway. It is just the best way (for me) bar no other. Nothing on the CC. You can jump on deals right away if you don't have the full amount. You're motivated to pay the gun off in ninety days instead of stringing it along on a CC or something.

plus sometimes it is best if it doesn't show up on your Mastercard bill. Not saying I hide things from the spouse, but sometimes they just think maybe you already have enough guns.......

Washington State recently passed a law that you must pay the sales tax on an FFL transfer to be collected by the dealer. :(

How is the purchase price of the gun determined?

I've been waiting for PA to pull a stunt like this. A lot of people will be buying a lot of guns for $40.00 I predict. It's what everyone does with used cars here when they can. A while back I sold a nice low mile '98 Grand Marquis to my buddy for a hundred bucks. Boy, did he get a good deal. ;) Car would've probably gone for four grand to anyone else...
