Looks like we busted 100 today in Austin....even hotter for tomorrow. Thank God it's a dry heat. 
Gonna be a long hot summer I suspect. Might have to add some styrofoam insulation to the beer fridge. A man's gotta know his limitations and his priorities.

in Fl here. we needed a new roof so went with a highly reflective metal and high rated/tech peel and stick sub layer, reflective window films, put a 2nd oven outside by the pool, moved the dryer to the garage, run dishwasher/ washer drier at night, heavy curtains with the blackout cloth liner in front of triple sliding glass doors facing west. major improvements in comfort and saving app 100$ a month on electric since December. oh and 6 solar panels will heat the pool to 90 degrees easy then I switch it over to heat the Jacuzzi to 103, FOR FREE! sure beats electric or propane. we are now in the pool 3-6 times a day, about 1/2 as much as the dogs. and the new led light bulbs not only give a better quality light but save $ on electric and run cool. it's amazing how much heat incandescent bulbs throw.

When we get up above 100, I hose down the A/C unit behind the house during the late afternoon. She seems to appreciate it!
My Maine-iac friend used to tell me: "It's all the way up to 40 below; everybody out and cut wood!"
It was 103º here today, and forecast for 106º tomorow. No end in sight, either.

Few years back the 3rd week of May I landed at McCarran at 10:30 AM on Sunday morning. It was 113. Went straight to Paris and did not go outside until my plane left Thursday. Cabbie said I just missed it. It was in the 70s the week before.
