Miss Pam is facing POSSIBLE open heart surgery. I'm kind of rattled right now but I'll run it down for you as best I can.

During a recent check up her doctor decided to run an EKG per something she heard through her stethoscope. Wasn't happy with the results and sent her to a cardiologist for an echo cardiogram. That led to a chemical stress test. The diagnosis is two leaking heart valves. She is to have an angiogram (SP) where they will run a camera up into her heart and see what is going on and what the situation really is.

The doctor got real cagey at this point. May need a stint...or...or...open heart surgery may be required to fix the problem. No further details were given.

What I'm asking for here is some heavy prayers starting now so that we have a prayer of being able to avoid the open heart surgery. My sweetie has lived with this Fibro myalgia for years and it is bad enough. I don't think it's fair to burden her with open heart surgery on top of everything else.

We have both had cancer scares in the past and I even had a small one removed from my thyroid 3 years ago. But we are really sweating this one out. Trying to stay positive but when you are laying there at night staring at the ceiling and unable to go to sleep the doubt and worry have a way of slipping in there.

I'm counting on my S&W Forum family to help support her through prayer and positive thoughts. I love y'all and appreciate your help. I will of course update you after we get the results of the angiogram.

Prayers and good thoughts sent her and your way.
The angiogram should help determine what's going on and then it's time to decide the best course of treatment.

Hang in there.

Prayers and all good wishes outbound, Jack, for you and Miss Pam.

I'm very visual. I have a thing I do when I'm really concerned about someone, including myself. In my mind I shrink the person down to about six inches tall and place him or her in the palms of my two hands. Then I lift the person as high over my head as I can and say, "Please hold this, it's too heavy for me." And I take my hands away.

I can do it as often as I need to. Sometimes that's pretty often. But it has helped me get to sleep many times, knowing that for a while I've placed the situation in stronger hands than mine.

Prayers sent.

I have an 82 year old friend that had his first heart surgery 20 some years ago. He's had stents, by-passes, shock treatments, and I don't know whut all.. He's still as lively as can be and I have coffee with him every day.

What I'm sayin' is, they can do some wonderful things with the old heart these days.

With all the prayers from here on the forum and the skills and technologies available today, I'm bettin' she'll crackin' the whip on you in no time.

Oh Jack, not the kind of news I wanted to hear from down there. Give Miss Pam a hug for all of us and rest assured prayers are sent for both of you. If surgery is needed they have done miracles with modern technology.

Miss Pam and all her people, especially you Jack, will join my prayer list effective immediately. May His hand guide those of the ones taking care of her, and may His love and healing flow through them into her, and may the Holy Spirit that is in each of us give strength, optimism, hope, and peace as His hand holds her during this trial.
