Hello,

I have qty 2 of the 24-5 Lew Horton's and on one of them, I got it with a SUPER LIGHT hammer and trigger rebound spring ... it was NOT safe to shoot as it was. I replaced the main spring and the trigger rebound spring and now the single-action hammer "click" is heavy and the single-action trigger is also about 5 pounds+. The original one is as perfect as they day it was made.

Thoughts?

You might try a mid weight rebound spring. Most of the single action pull weight is regulated by that. Wolff Springs has them from 11 lb. to 16 lb. in one pound increments. The factory one is usually considered 18 lb.

Thank you ... Now I know more than I did this morning. I ordered a "5-Pack" from Wolff ... I will get springs of all the weights and try them out and see what happens. I knew ordering that trigger rebound spring install tool was a good idea!

If anyone is looking for one, the Gunsmither Tools is well worth it.
