Springfields new 9mm compact. Hmmm way over priced (my opinion) Ok it had a whopping extra round 13 + 1 ( big deal 2nd opinion). Guys & Gals I just don't see it cost wise for non American made non stainless Barrell carry compact. Got wonder if Springfield customer service all set to spew out you got run 1000 rounds threw it before sending it back for fail to feed or fire. Oh and that's in their very broken English terms too. They spent a ton on the promo viedo on this go to their sight check it out.I for one will pass , if I was in market for compact I would by the Smith it will go bang out the box every time more than likely and far less cash. I do have a Springfield X D S 45 at it was a night mare first 500 rounds to feed and fire. Never to date ever had my Smith's do that. Let's see how this one does it will be interesting

You are correct that their promo video is top notch. Made me go to their site and do a little research on the new model. Some guys here will buy one and am anxious to see user reviews.

It's really unfortunate that Springfield chose a name which is shared with an infamously bad P3AT/LCP clone.

They should honestly rename it.

Looks interesting, but not for me. My son carries and XDs, and I've been impressed with it. I still like my shield better.

I traded my XD 40, a few years ago, and purchased their XD(E) and shoots great. Never had a malfunction on either gun. As far as the Hellcat, I think I will stick with my XD(E). It is a comfortable gun to carry and the slide is easy to manipulate. The Hellcat, in my opinion, is too much money for a gun that has plenty of competition for less money.

Lest we not forget the Shield recalls.
As for SA's Hellcat, it is a clear shot across the bow of Sig and their P365. I was surprised at them going for 11+1 as so many states are mandating 10 rounds as max mag capacity.
As for the P365 and it's size and performance. Both of mine have functioned perfectly and it's size being smaller than the Shield, made it my go to carry gun. My Shield is currently owned by a fellow employee.

Mods please note :I didn't see the thead already running on this Hellcat sorry

Ah, yezzzz... the Hellcat. I've been trained to drive one flat out!

It amazes me that after 20 years some folk still get bent out of shape because the XD series was designed and is built in Croatia.

Not really bent out of shape , just typing an obersavition . I like Stainless and would prefer it being U S built from a U S company. I do own a XDs 45. It's not been flawless like my M&P both bought new in 2015

Thanks for posting that. I was looking at the "not made in the USA" comment and thinking HUH? I thought Springfield was in IL?
Didn't know they went offshore for production of the XD line.

I love my XDs and have never had any issues with them, even using one for a 500 rd training session with zero issues. And I am typing this on my Asian built computer no less! I find the build quality of Springfields XD line to easily be the equivalent of anything from S&W over the last ten years. I also love my model 10 Classic and my M&P10 as well (considering modern Smiths). I don't think the price is far out of line either as they will be selling for far less than MSRP once on the mainstream market. Look at what the Kel-Tec PMR30 was doing price wise!

Have a M&P40 that I could never shoot well. Not worth much now. Switched to XDMs. I shoot much better with them. I also like my P365, which has been problem free. But...what I shoot best and what I like the most (by far) are my S&W revolvers. All of them. Tried the modern stuff (which was fun) but I'm thinking being old allows me to like whatever I want, old fashioned or whatever.
