My name is not Jack Burton, its Mike Janik. Jack Burton is a handle I use on several gun forums and is the main character of a favorite movie of mine, played by Kurt Russell.
I am fairly recent to wheelguns, having been a long time proponent of the 1911 platform. Semi-autos just don't do it for me anymore. But we do have a nice new M&P in the family (my wife's gun).
I just purchased a Model 29-2 with a 4" barrel for $499.00 and I thought this would be the place to find out about it.
I also have a Model 19-5 and a Terrier in .38 S&W CTG that was my grandfather's backup gun when he was a Chicago policeman.
I am a combat vet of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004-2006) and am getting ready to go back again soon. I am a full-time active duty Soldier in the Michigan Army National Guard.
