Hi, I just thought I should introduce myself with my first post. I have been a member of this forum since 2007 and spent a lot of time reading, but this is my first post.

I am a BIG fan of S&W and own several, both revolvers and pistols. I shoot an M&P 9mm pro and occasionally a Model 15 revolver for IDPA and love them both.

My most resent acquisition is a used 1066. I haven't picked it up from the FFL yet as we have a 10 day waiting period here in California. I am may need to find a good S&W Gen3 gunsmith to work on the trigger on this gun as in single action mode it has a little click about 2/3 the way to the point where the trigger engages the sear. It does this both with and without the magazine in place. It does not do this when functioning the trigger in double action mode.

When I get the gun in hand I will spend some time trying to figure out what is going on with it. If I can't resolve the issue I will want to get it to a good gunsmith. Maybe I'll just send it to Smith & Wesson and have them do a trigger job on it and correct the problem.

If anyone has any ideas as to what could be causing the trigger issue, or a recommendation for a good gunsmith please let me know.

Thanks

Greetings, all:

My dad just died (101) and left me 2 S&W revolvers - his 1894 hammerless .38, and his 1917 U.S. Army .45, both is good condition. Anyone know potential value?

@agamemnon- I think you posted your question in the wrong thread. This thread is for introducing new members. You also need to post photos.

Welcome from Texas L.C. Star Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

There is some information on a post I started regarding the 4506 and the click. Your may find it helpful.

Look for "I remember why I love this gun." (or something like that).
