Hello!

I have been reading and learning for a bit.

I shoot something similar to PPC or "Bullseye" with differing targets at 25-50 feet timed for 10-25 seconds. We shoot mostly double action. I have been using a 586 and a K38, both 6" barrel, with .38 wadcutters.

I have acquired a few S&W revolvers and am looking to acquire more, God willing. I am mainly looking at ones made from 1948-1968. Pre-war would be nice but currently above my pay grade.

I'm know Stamford very well as I used to do a lot of work in the area before I retired.

Welcome from N-California. I was born and raised in Waterbury and used to shoot at the Blue Trail Range. Left CT in 55 when I joined the AF and retired in CA 30 years later when I retired.

Just curious if it was called Blue Trail Range or was it Lyman at that point?

That's too funny!

The Blue Train Range was at some point the Lyman Range. In the area is the Lyman Farm (We pick apples there) and well Lyman everything. The Lyman Gun Sight Company was all part of the same family as I understand it.

You might be part of the family!

No, but I wish! When I was a Sr. in High School in 55, I was a member of the Army Reserve (age 17) and I remember qualifying with the M1 Garand at the Blue Trail Range. I remember being on leave from the AF sometime between 70 & 74 and shooting there with my uncle and I'm pretty sure it was still called the Blue Trail Range then.
