Hello From Elgin, IL

I've been looking for a good, informative site that specializes in Smith & Wessons, and I have struck the mother lode! Nice to be here.

I have 3 S&Ws: 2 Mod. 46s (one with a recently purchased spare 5-inch barrel) and 1 Mod. 60 with a 2-inch barrel. I purchased the latter used from a Timonium, Maryland, gun shop a dozen years ago. It's a very fine shooter and my personal choice for a mattress gun. (Can't carry here in Illinois. The Daley Machine doesn't like guns, and they run the state.)

I wonder if anyone could help identify when it was made or shipped? The S/N is 388XX and there's no case-hardening of hammer or trigger visible.

Thanks Deralte! I forgot to mention that I also own a Mod. 29 .44 mag. with an 8 3/8" bbl, which I reload for. Plan to deer hunt with it this year.
