You can see from my profile I've been around for a while, but mostly just observing. Recently I realized just how much I enjoy this forum - the humor, the camaraderie, the shared enthusiasm - and decided to do my bit by contributing and joining the SWCA.
Dad had guns, but we lived in the burbs and shooting wasn't a frequent activity. Came of age reading Jeff Cooper in Guns & Ammo. Bought my first gun (used Ruger Single-Six, still have it) at 21 while home on leave from the Army, in which I served for 25 years. Lots of moves, lots of guns, lots of books. My interests are broad, with appreciation for history and technical aspects of design (a.k.a. gun nerd). S&W Hand Ejectors hold a special fascination.
Home is now Northern Virginia, but we're currently posted to Vilnius where my lovely wife works for Uncle. Looking forward to greater participation and sharing some of my favorites with y'all.
