Hi all, obviously I'm new to the S&W forums so a little intro.
I've been a gun owner since my childhood, do a little hunting but now mostly have arms for fun and defense. My collection includes an AR Carbine, a couple of AKs, a 1911 (as well as a neat Govt Model .380 I got from my Dad), two Remington shotguns (1100 and 18" 870), some rimfires and an Enfield .303.
But to the point, a couple of Smiths included (and my apologies for the photo quality):
686-2
A beautiful little Airweight that I inherited from my Grandmother who inherited it from her brother. It is literally in 99% condition and the blueing is phenomenal. Am I correct that it's a Model 37? I'd also love to know its age (serial J9489XX).
Anyway, thanks to the forum for the opportunity to learn here and I look forward to being more active.
