Hello to all, here at the S&W Forum. Just registered and happy to be a member here.
Through the years I have owned/shot/carried/competed with several different S&W handguns. At one time, operating my own part-time gun shop. My biggest inspiration was my dad, who passed away Nov. 16, 2011. He was an avid long gun collector and was the reason I enjoyed shooting so much.
Upon his passing, I was given his S&W Model 10 38 Special. I have the original box. It is the 4" Heavy Barrel version in Nickel Finish. I doubt that dad ever shot a full box of ammo through this gun. I enjoy shooting this gun, as it reminds me of my dad and his love of firearms. Though it would've made a wonderful "presentation" piece; I enjoy it more at the range, sharing each shot with my dads' memory.
My competition days are long past, but I enjoy casual shooting with my fiancé and a few close friends. Shooting was always a fun way for us to spend time with dad on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I have 2 younger brothers and we all miss him every day. He and my mom were married 55 years. He was 76 years old when he passed away.
So, just a little about myself and why I'm here. Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings!
