Hello from NC

Welcome from the NC foothills, NW of Charlotte. Good bunch of people here, you'll enjoy the forum. What did you do "in the air", and in what part of our fine state do you hang your hat?

Hello from Highlands, NC... Since we've moved here Full-Time from Georgia... I've discovered every good No-Co Resident needs a good 12Gauge Pump Shotty, a .22lr Semi-Auto both in rifle and pistol, a Smith .38Spec snubbie for carry, and a Smith M29/629 in .44Magnum with a 3" or longer barreled version for "Outdoor CCW"...

Just my observation over the last 3 years... Of course YMMV...

Sometimes we carry all of that at the same time.

Welcome from NW North Carolina. A great group of people here. They have a wealth of knowledge and are very helpful. As you already know, you are looking for one of the best iconic revolvers of all time. I think that I have three model 10 heavy barrels now in my very modest group of revolvers. All of my purchases were made before Covid-19 and the recent buying hysteria. Be patient if your situation allows for that. I do not know how you feel about internet gun purchases but all of my model 10s were bought on GunBroker. My very small home town just has a hardware store that stocks a few guns. I have experienced very good luck on multiple used gun internet purchases via AuctionArms and GunBroker. Others may have varying opinions and results.

Welcome from RI.

I do not know what a 10-10 is, but I am sure it is newer than my preference. BUT, that is just me.:D

If 38 is your caliber, the K38, M14,M15, M64 and M67 are for you. All great shooters.

Welcome! This is a great forum for Smith fans! I lived in eastern NC for 16 years before moving up to Indiana in 1988. My introduction to Smith revolvers came while living in NC.

Hi Airman,
Welcome from Raleigh NC! If you're looking for a revolver you may want to consider attending one of the bigger NC gun shows and "kicking the tires" in person. I used to attend the Dixie Gun and Knife show in Raleigh pretty regularly, but then my safe kinda "filled up" and I don't have as much interest in accumulating beyond what I already own and shoot. However I made an occasional used revolver purchase there.....some of the larger dealers take trade-in's at the show, and actually bring some of their used inventory to the show as well.

Thank you again for all the welcomes! My problem here is I guess I am too late to the S&W game! Prices are so high now on the online sites, it makes me crazy that I sold all the old ones off years ago. I have not been to a gun show in probably 12 years, and may end up going to the Asheville show in a few weeks. I am local to Gastonia, Shelby, Charlotte area, but have no favorite dealers anymore. Been out of the game for years guys.

Yeah, the wifey always has her M442 stoked with 150gr Hard Cast Buffalo Bore pills... And I'll have a 12Gauge Ithaca and the M629-5 3" on me when Off-roading in her Rubicon because you simply don't know sometimes what's on or just off-trail... We've ran into some "strange stuff" up here in these mountains...

The last 3-4 "Gunshows" Ive been to were junk... Lots of literature and reloading and to be honest, "Junk" there as opposed to guns... GunBroker is what you seek. I haven't bought a gun at a show in over 20 years.

Welcome from Wake Forest. Some good guns show in Raleigh, and some stinkers.
One never knows what will show up, so I go.
The DIXIE SHOW is in two weeks.
