Well, I guess this is the place for us new members to introduce ourselves...
My firearms experience is extensive... Back in the 1980s, I worked as a buyer for one of the largest sporting goods wholesalers in the United States. I worked in gunsmithing, retail gun sales, and I have been shooting since the age of six. I started casting my own bullets and reloading at the age of 16 and I have been shooting both as a civilian,a US Marine and a police officer for many years. Firearms have been the largest part of my adult life.
I am currently employed in the medicolegal field, and my firearms knowledge has served me well.
I am an absolute, true believer in the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights. I have been a Benefactor Member of the National Rifle Association since 1977. Over the years, I have attended many of the SHOT Shows, Knifemakers Guild shows and of course the NRA shows.
As to Smith & Wesson firearms, I have probably owned at least 30 or so over the years. I have my grandfather's Model 19, I have the 6 inch Model 28 I went to the Academy with. I have carried a Model 38 Airweight Bodyguard almost daily since I was commissioned in 1986. It has been a good and faithful servant...
Just yesterday, I picked up a pristine K-38 "Heavy Masterpiece"... I will post photos and a few questions about it in the appropriate forum, then I will send my check off to Smith & Wesson for some official documentation from Mr. Jinks.
Happy to be here...
