Hey guys, just joined the forum. I bought a Smith & Wesson M&P40 recently, and after putting several hundred rounds through it I have come to the conclusion that it is the most consistent and balanced gun that I own(not a huge sample size as I only have 5 now). With that said, I would really love to get into the Smith & Wesson Performance Center pistols. Sadly, the only ones I have been able to find are the compact 9 or the shield EZ. Any tips guys?

WELCOME FROM AZ

Michael:
I own & like a M&P40 too....except for the 2-stage trigger, compared to a 1911. I'm over-the-hill on age, so I'm not worried about being competitive in IPSC. I mostly use it for CCW instruction.
BTW, I grew up on the W. side of Cleve. (Daisey Ave.), lived in Parma (Parklane Dr.), & then in Middleburg Hts. (Cherokee Trail) before cutting the apron strings & heading SW to Calif. Back when it was a decent state.
Where is/are there any outdoor shooting ranges near Brookpark?
Another BTW, my Dad was the 1st Mgr. of Ambassador Lanes, now called Freeway Lanes (I think).
Best Wishes, Hank M.

I agree that the trigger could be a little better. It's definitely no Beretta M9A3, but that's what the performance center is for right?

Only outdoor ranges I've seen are 25+ miles west or south. There is a nice indoor range in parma called parma armory that is right off of 480 on tiedemann though. Really good people there and not bad pricing on ammo and rentals.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. It's nice to see that the Smith & Wesson community is friendly and welcoming. I hope that you will be understanding of my ignorance, as I am still relatively new to gun ownership. I will likely be on here frequently looking for tips and suggestions as I learn. Also please forgive any "stupid" questions I might have.

Hi, & welcome from Pittsburgh. Western PA all my life. Sorry, but I don't own any S&W pistols, just a couple revolvers, so I can't help you on your quest!
I did live for one summer in Port Clinton/Catawba Island to work. Really nice up there, but I guess that's more East.
