Was picture number 5 taken before the spring rains????????????????????
That is a picture of Hell’s Gate prior to the building of the Morris Sheppard Dam, which was started in 1936 and completed in 1941.
I wish we had some Spring rains!
Most of my formative years were spent in what is now called the DFW area. My family's usual boating recreation time was spent at Grapevine Lake, but we journeyed out to Possum Kingdom fairly often.
I water skied through Hell's Gate many a time and admired the intestinal fortitude of those who dove from it. I was never even tempted to try that feat. Other than Lake Texoma, PK was the largest body of fresh water I was ever on. Many wonderful memories!

Grapevine Lake was party-central when I was in HS.
You probably wouldn’t recognize it now.
