Help confirming model #

In a shop I saw a S&W 357 mag 4" model 62 matte stainless finish . The one site I fell upon stated model 62 as a "experimental model". Were any made ? Put into limited production ? If so, What would be the approx value ? What is the diff on the finishes -reg stainless vs. matte ? Thanks for any info, ca38

Give us more details of this Model 62. Did you get any pictures? What was the price?

No pics. Asking $400. Seemed to be in very good condition and tight

One other thing about the finish - it seemed not to be a real shiny stainless but a bush type nickel looking finish

I have never heard of a 62. The 6 series (60, 66 etc) is usually stainless but no idea on a Model 62. Could it be a 65 that you are misreading or is misstamped? The 65 is a fixed sight, heavy barrel 4" 357 in stainless.

Whatever it is it's likely worth $400. Offer him $350..
