With the caliber and SN, there are two possibilities but more details would help.

I don't know if it has a model number, it is a hand ejector, about 5 1/2" barrel, it is chrome. That's all I have. thanks for your reply.

It'll tell if it should have a Model # or only a Model name and then you will also have more to share here.

Well, here is what I can tell you. The only S & W HE .32s with that SN (no letter in front) would be stamped either MOD 30 or MOD 31 on the frame under the barrel with the cylinder swung out. The SN would put it as shipped sometime in the later 1950s, but by that time the only regular barrel lengths offered would have been 4" or less.

So, if it has a 5-6" barrel, it may be either a parts gun (an earlier barrel on a later frame), or it is not an S & W.

One thing I can tell you with certainty, is that if it is a factory finish, it isn't chrome, but rather, nickel.
