Belonged to my dad but don't have a lot of info on it.
Model 49-2 (humpback) .38 special

S/N: BNS47xx Stamped on butt and on the frame, behind the yoke (not ON the yoke).

2", blue steel, very nice condition. I have the original grips as well.

Thanks!

Hi Ron, Welcome to the Forum.
The Model 49 is a fine little .38 Special revolver. I like them so much I got 3 - blue, nickel, and a stainless steel Model 649.
Yours is from early 1993. Probable value is around $500. +P ammunition is OK to use if you wish.
As a gun handed down from your Dad, I hope you feel that you should keep it. Even though it's 22 years old, it'll last your lifetime and your children's lifetime as well.
Can't think of anything else - again, welcome!

Thank you GerSan...
You even read my mind about the +P ammunition question I forgot to ask about! Yes, I really like this little gun and intend to keep it. I just never got the opportunity to talk to my dad about it.

Again, thanks!
