Help Idendify these S&W Guns

Hey Guys, these are in my collection. Any info on them would be appreciated. I'm trying to learn all I can about these guns. Thanks guys

1. 32-20 CTG, custom grip, serial 1452xx

2. 32 CTGE, octagon barrel, it says model 04 32.6 shot, 942xx

3. 38 CTG, black grips, serial 4627xx

4. 38 CTG, brown grips, serial 1725xx

Ok, i could be wrong on all accounts, but here's what i think they are.

i think the first one is a 32-20 Hand ejector model of 1905 4th change
these were in production from 1915-1940, your serial would place yours close to the end of the production run.

Now that Goony mentions H&R, i believe he is correct, pulled out the old standard catalog of firearms, looks exactly like H&R american double action.

third is a 38 Double action 4th model, production 1895-1909.

fourth is 38 safety hammerless 4th model, production 1898-1907.

Check the serial number on the 32/20 again.
That is too high.
It is on the bottom of the butt under the grips, back of cylinder, bottom of barrel above ejector rod.

The second gun is most likely a Harrington & Richardson product, or at least it has H&R grips on it.

Your .32-20 has pretty obviously been refinished. Interesting grips, though.

Check the SN on the S&W. The number you have posted is well above the accepted last gun of this model produced, 144684. It is quite late in production. With that style of extractor rod head it is sometime after 1928.

Check the SN on the bottom of the barrel and the back of the cylinder to be sure they match the number on the butt.

As Goony said, an obvious refinish, and not factory. The hammer and trigger should show color case hardening, not be plated. The extractor should be blued too, bet it's nickeled too.

You guys are right. The 32-20 has a number on the butt of the gun that says 1432xx, on the bottom of the barrel under the ejector rod it says b 1432xx but inside the cylinder it says 340xx

The "B" means that the gun was shiped from the factory in blued finish.
