Help identify this 38 special

s/n 941xxx with lanyard loop. Is it a 1905 4th or an early Victory? Were lanyard loops available on the commercial models?

Yes, lanyards were available on commercial models. If there is no 'V' prefix, then it's not a Victory. It's still technically a 1905-4th and would have shipped right at the beginning of WW2. It could have shipped to any number of police or plant security outfits.

It's a M&P Model of 1905, 4th change. Probably shipped in 1941. letter it to find out where. Ed.

Thanks for the information guys. The lanyard had me stumped. I'm very much a novice at this but I am really starting to like it.
