Greetings.

I'm new to the forum, is it possible to identify the year?

My father gave it to me, it was from his great uncle. So, i know its old.

- Hand Ejector Fixed sights
- 5 inch barrel
- "38 LONG CTG" written on the barrel
- nothing on the yoke

I'd like to see a close-up of the trademark stamp.

I've never seen that barrel marking before and suspect you have a Spanish knock-off of a S&W.

Welcome!

Agree with Chad, likely a Spanish-made S & W copy. Stampings on these would often mimic an S & W product, down to a reference to S & W as a caliber.

Also, there was no S & W revolver stamped “.38 Long”; guns made in that era were marked “U.S. Service CTG” so the name of their main competitor would not be on their barrels, as in .38 Long Colt.

I'm onboard with it being a Spanish copy. To answer the question posed, I'd be comfortable attributing it to the 1920's.

thank you all.

apart from some finishing quality issues in some pieces, the gun seems super solid.

i did not shoot with it yet. maybe after i use-it i'll make a post reporting how it shoots.
