A .38 Victory Model from slightly earlier in the war than your .38/200, perhaps early 1944. It appears to have been refinished. If the SN is not 807424 it has been refitted with the then-new style hammer block to prevent accidental firing if dropped on the hammer, and the S was stamped on it. The later SN would have had the S modification from the factory. Hope this is helpful.

Unlikely the SN supplied is correct. V807424 is much more likely to be correct. By its appearance (commercial stocks and blued finish) it may well be a commercial model from early 1946 made up using a wartime-manufactured frame.

Looks to be a retrofitted earlier wartime Victory Model as stated. It does look to be refinished in matte blue; it should resemble your .38/200. It also has later (postwar to about 1966) stocks from a commercial gun.
