Help identifying inherited hand ejector please.

Can anyone help me with identifying and possibly history of my grandfather's revolver? Pics included, I hope. Serial is 4516xx.

Looks like a Military & Police model, perhaps from the '50s. To be more specific, we'll need at least a partial serial number (eg 2345XX) from the bottom of the grip frame.
There is a sticky at the top of the forum page that explains more about the information needed to identify your revolver more closely.

That revolver should have a MADE IN USA on the other side of the frame. It would be called a 38 Military & Police, 4th Change revolver and would have shipped around 1923. The large mushroom shaped extractor rod knob indicates it was made before 1927 and if it has a MADE IN USA stamping it was added in 1922.

There should be a caliber stamping on the right side of the barrel. The stocks are much later, well after WWII ended. Let me add an example of this era stocks are below.

It's a .38 special and it does have the MADE IN USA mark on the right side. I tried attaching more than one pic and it didn't work.

Welcome to the forum! It likely shipped in mid-1923. 447166 shipped in April 1923. 463794 shipped in October 1923.
