Edit: the 617-2 has product code 100567 which is a Ashlands edition code? Box end label picture attached
I’m looking at two model 617s. A dash 2 6” with 10rd stainless cylinder
The other is a 617-6 4” with 10rd cylinder
Both are priced at $650
I like the shorter 4” but I don’t care for the lock
I like the vintage aspect of the dash 2.

I can’t make up my mind LOL

EDIT: I bought the dash 2 pictured here for $650 AND they had a nickel 29-2 for pictured in a reply below, for $700. I’m happy and broke.
Thanks for your help guys

I love my 617-6. The thing is so much fun to shoot and incredibly accurate. I wish the lock was not there, but I would not trade it for an older model. I got a great one and I am hanging on to it.

The box has product code 100567. Is this an Ashland gun product code?
Clearly this gun has a full under lug and probably dates to 1994.
I must not be understanding something. When I site search that product code I get a bunch of results talking about Ashland guns

4". It was a easy decision for me as my largest centerfire revolver is 4.25". I wanted a training aid mostly. I take my 617 with me nearly everyday in case I want to stop and shoot somewhere. In fact I shot it about an hour ago

I have a M617-2 with the 10 rd. alloy cylinder. 6" bbl. with custom stocks. This revolver is super accurate. I bought it new back in 1999 for around $400. You will like it, they are nice guns. Big Larry

Book says 100567 was "Special Non-full lug". Then it says "1991".

Hope this helps.
