Dear s&w forum, i have someting to share there are so few handgun carrying options for men who are wheelchair bound.

I mean pretty much are only options are a cross draw holster rig, shoulder holster rig, chest holster rig, Fanny pack holster or a holster rig attached to
the chair itself, also gun t shirts and vests.

I want to design a holster system that takes all of the best elements of these 7 systems and create 1 holster system for men who are wheelchair bound like me.

so if anybody here has suggests or design ideas please post them to the thread.

because we have so few ways in which to defend ourselves we need as many holster options as possible.

Sincerely and respectfully mg357 a proud member of the s&w forum.

Not speaking for S&W, but I would imagine it is a matter of supply and demand. The market is very competitive, so they look at areas where there is the most demand...and focus on supplying that demand.

What kind of carry method are you looking for? If you have a specific carry method may someone here could help develop a carry holster for you and others who need consideration. No knows better what you need better then you.

MG357; here`s your chance to design something you think could work for you and send it to a few holster makers or whatever. You are in a position to know more what might work than most people. Good luck!

Hi:
A friend who is confinded to a wheelchair, in addition to CCW a revolver in a crossdraw holster also CCW a very sharp hunting type knife. His reason is that if attacked from the rear, he would be able to fend off the attacker with the knife until he could have an opportunity to bring the firearm into use.

feralmerrill: Sir i actually have developed a couple of carry methods but unfortunately my methods leave the gun in the open not concealed.

I suppose i could try to design some sort of holster system. But my design skills are stinky.

Years ago I was laid up for close to 6 months from a motorcycle accident that should have killed me. One day I had to come back to the hospital desk and was standing in line. I heard a woman behind me say that guy is carrying a peacemaker! It wasnt a peacemaker, but I was packing a gun under my shirt and thought I was busted. I turned around and some old woman asked me was that a PACEMAKER under my shirt? I think I explained I was carrying paperwork as I was on crutchs and had my hands full.

i on occasion carry in a fannypack...it's innocent enough in apperance,u can have in on you (or close) in or out of the chair, conceals the handgun well and offers easy access....give it some thought mg and let me know what u think...and...it was you idea!

As feralmerril has said Now is your chance !!!

There are a Several Holster Makers on this forum
Both professional & amateur

& you might just be able to persuade one of them to assist you in your quest
Who Knows it might actually develop into something of a commercial venture

I am sure there a more people than you realize
who are now in a chair like you (or maybe someday will be)

You Never Know until you try

Let this Thread be your call !!!

I would suggest Changing the title to

"Help me Design a Good Concealable Wheelchair Holster"

Rule3 i have a carry method of my own. But my method may not work for another wheelchair bound person. So i want to design a holster system for wheelchair bound folks. But i need help.

I have been in a power wheelchair for a long time. I once thought about the same thing. Now for starters; I shoot right handed like most. I found that a solid holster that does not move, on my body was the safest for me. I changed the controls to the left side of my chair because I shoot right handed. Now I drive left handed should I have to draw and fire even in motion I can compliant this action. I must stress practice, practice, practice! I have privet property and set up targets and wile driving shoot to stay sharp. If you Carry Concealed and are in a wheelchair, you need to be able to protect yourself and above all you loved ones.

Thanks for reading.

Drive hand - Shoot hand?

OTR Driver Tim.

Thanks for the Welcome Rustyt1953. Thank You for your Service!
Anyone else drive their power chair with left hand because they shoot with right? I am also going to try and mount the Caldwell Dead Shot tree stand system using the hunting blind attachment to mount to my chair. Again I will drive down my dirt road with my rifle supported by the Caldwell ready to shoot with my right hand. We have a lot of prairie dogs. I'll post a picture when I get it built.
Have a great night.

Can you make a video of what you have and post? I don't know how to work this site yet. I think it's great your working on this. These are the things that. Help us to push on.
