Hello, I'm new to shooting really and am admittedly pretty uneducated when it comes to rifles (but I'm working on remedying that).
So I'm buying the m&p rifle next week (yay) and want to get a scope for it but I have some preferences. I was looking at this:

Leapers 5th Gen 4X32 TS Platform Mini Rubber Armored Scope with Mil-Dot SCP-432MDL3R FREE S&H SCP-432MDL3R. Leapers 5th Gen Riflescopes, Leapers Riflescopes.

I like how it looks :)

What I'm looking for:
Compact size
Flip up caps
Magnifying- don't want the red or green dot
With crosshairs.

If u have any suggestions please link and give info on what I need to mount, I'm not sure if I want to remove the stock sights or not...so options will help. I'm also not looking to spend more than $80..

Thanks!

Can't help you on the scope, just the vendor... Optics planet is famous for backordering items. I ordered six sets of mag carriers for my guys' use in drop leg holsters last year when we were in Afghan; backordered for four weeks. If you order from them, might want to call in your order. Good luck on your scope shopping, my preference is to buy once and cry once. Also check out rimfire central dot com for a rimfire-focused environment. Good knowledge here on S&W's for sure, and good knowledge there too, but with a rimfire focus (and rimfire scopes, gear, etc).

Thanks for info guys. @ chattanoogaphil, that's a great website. Thanks.

GeekGirl: I like your scope choice. Though I have no experience with it. I like the size, the fact that it appears made for an AR platform and that it's only 4x. Remember these guns are not tackdrivers. At least not by most people's definition. So a scope will only do so much for you. I would also play around with the open sights and see how you like them. Of course it should be easy to go back and forth. BTW, I've never had a problem with Opticsplanet, but your mileage may vary. Good luck.

You might try looking at Tatical Ted.com, great line of
products and currently giving away a free pair of binoculars
with purchase.
