I am a new user and just had the pleasure of having you good folks identify two old Smith and Wesson firearms that my wife inherited. One is a 1905 M&P .38 special built appx 1909 and the other is an .32 Long HE 5th change appx 1916 with MOP grips that are in great shape although I am not able to verify if they were factory installed or not (no cracking). These weapons are in good condition and we would like to sell them. Any information you can provide on the proper way to sell them through this site as far as listing, shipping, legal requirements would be appreciated.

I have attached a picture of the weapons and there are additional pictures with my original post asking for help to identify them.

Handguns must be sold through a FFL (Federal Firearms Dealer) if the sale is across any state line. Since you are evidently not too experienced, I would recommend you contact a local FFL that sells guns on consignment and have them sell them for you. You need to know your firearms laws for your state, for example here in IL you can not legally possess a firearm if you do not have a FOID (Firearms Owners I D) other states have other even more stringent laws. You need to become familiar with your state laws first.
