I've finally located a T grip that I knew I had and want to install it on an '70's era M15 2" nickle. Here is the problem: this gun has some gorgeous old stag handles, I know I will have to relieve the forward portion of the stocks for the adaptor to fit, but what holds the T grip to the frame? There are a pair of 'wings' that would fit under the grips so am I to believe that friction alone is going to hold these on? Seems to me it would just work loose over time. Do you all use a tacky type cement to hold the inside of the adaptor to the outside of the frame or what?
Any suggestions would help.

Smithhound - you do not have to modify the grips (if they are magna style grips).
Take the grips off, put the grip adapter in place and then reinstall grips.

Thanks for replies.
VM actually I will have to relieve them, they are some 'fat' Sambar in the old 'Service' style, the adaptor hits the front and won't snug up to the frame.
I'm including a picture so you can see what I'm talking about this shows the butt of the gun compared to the arc of the T grip, to me it looks like the radius of the arc is too great for the frame, like it would just wobble around. However the box says it is for a K38 or Combat, etc. I've had this for a while and did not buy it new, so there is a possibility the T is not actually what the box implies. Having never felt the need to use one, I would not know.
The second pic shows a side view of the stocks and gun
Tell me what you all think, wrong grip or not?

I would try to modify the T-grip and not the Stags. I think you will lose the aged stag look by relieving them, and it take years to yellow. Have you loosened the grips and slid the copper strap in place to see how close it is?

Or maybe get a set of wood "working" stocks to use with the T-Grip and reserve the stags for those times you want to dress up a K-Frame. It would be a shame to modify them, especially if the mod went badly.

I had the same problem with a Mod 60 and and a set of (imitation) Ivory grips. I relieved the T grip some, but I never went too far,and was never satisfied with it. I installed some boot grips and they fit my hand great.
