I need help on e s&w model 19-8 the gun has a black finish (NOTblue) and is marked Walther R-99 serial CDB 9443. with a 3" barrel
I have never seen this name marking
Please need information as what i am about to buy

I can't help with the markings, but I did have a 19-8, 4" barrel, round butt, Uncle Mikes grips, with the internal lock that was more black than blue.

It was also marked as a "38 Special" but that's another story.

Serial number dates to 1999 which would be about right for the 19-8. I read somewhere that S&W made these revolvers for Walther based on the Model 19 and the Model 66.

pictures of s&w 19-8 (carl walther) It came with blue S&W box with correct tag & serial # and paper work.Yes it is a 3"Bbl.

Cool gun, there may have been a post here previously but these are the first photos I have seen. Prefix CDB is from January 1999.

I'll take a dozen! Find it hard to believe a 3" bbl 19 would weigh only 28.4 ozs, as the ad claims. The weight of a 4" 19 is always advertised as 35/36 ozs.
