Help on the value of a 10-5

A elderly lady friend of my wife's has a model 10-5 that is in very good condition. It shows very little to no use. I want to know what she can expect to get out of it. I'm not going to buy it because I don't care for the model 10's. Any opinions would be a great help. Thanks, John

Even though you are not interested in it, you should get it from her and try to sell it for her, so she doesn't get screwed. I think a realistic value would be $500 - $550, from an individual. JMHO

Just yesterday I walked into a gun store with the intention of puting a 10-5 on consignment. Before the store owner could even look at it a patron in the store gave me $600 for it. Very good+ plus condition. That makes three I have sold in the last two months, all M-10's for $575, $600, and $600. They were all extras in my collection, which, by the way, I didn't have until I joined this forum and started to "acquire" Smiths.

I got mine(10-7 4") last year for $600, no paper no accessories, seller graded it very good but lots of wear and only about 80% blue remained. I accepted the price because it was resonable at that point. So her model 10 is worth at least $600, I think.

After looking at the other cars on the lot, M19/13/15/28 etc, a M10 for $500 is an economy model. With inflation driving prices up of everything these days I'd price it at $650 to give it a little negotiating room.

Update to all: the little old lady sold it to a friend of hers. Best info I can get is the guy knows nothing about guns and saw a model 19 no dash 3" for sale and offered her over 1K for it. That is all I know. ha ha
Good for her.

Great news to hear the elderly women received a more than generous return on her M-10.
