Help picking an HK trigger type

A while back I expressed disdain for my glock trigger because I am so used to a double action revolver. You guys helped me out by recommending the NY-1 trigger spring. After that it was all rainbows and happiness with the glock.

Now I have been bitten by the HK bug and I want to add a P30SK to the collection, but once again I am looking to make it feel as close to a real DAO trigger as possible.

The HK guys say get the LEM and install the V2 (heavy ) springs, but I'm not sure if that is still the best action plan for me, since I am used to letting the revolver trigger all the way out, I don't know if I will be able to deal with only letting it out to the reset.

The other option is just deal with a DA/SA gun.

Have any other revolver guys gone down this path?

You can still let it out all the way.

Unfortunately HK has like 7 different trigger options and added to that are umpteen different spring options.

How about just a standard V1 DA/SA? It has a 10- - 12# DA trigger and a 5# SA trigger. Otherwise LEM is going to be the only DAO everything else is DA/SA

All guns that have a reset don't just stop there. You can let it out all the way. In fact on many you have to pay attention to stop at the reset even you NY Glock has a short reset

Likely isn't going to be any help, but the most revolver like trigger I have ever felt in a semi auto pistol is the Sig P250. Sig has discontinued them recently because they just weren't big sellers but they can still be found new or used at pretty decent prices.

If you're saying what I think you're saying then the answer is no. I own a USP 9 LEM.

The LEM has two trigger weights, the light (er) DA and the full weight/heavy (er) DA.

When you chamber a round the hammer is pre cocked (for lack of a better word)but stays in the DA mode. It becomes lighter to pull. When you shoot the slide comes back and pre cocks the hammer internally again while the hammer falls back into the DA mode. It repeats this over and over until you run out of ammo. At which point the slide is locked back and you insert a new full mag.

Where the heavy DA comes in is when the you pull the trigger and nothing happens. The gun goes through the motions but the bullet doesn't fire. NOW.....since the slide didn't cycle you don't have the pre cocked light trigger pull and it becomes a standard 10# pull giving you a second strike capability.

Another way to look at it is a reversed traditional double action. In the traditional configuration your first trigger pull is heavy because you're cocking the hammer but after the first shot the slide cycles and puts the trigger into single action. With the LEM it's reversed. When you chamber you essentially make it a lighter trigger but if the trigger is pulled and the slide doesn't cycle you're left with the "DA" pull

I don't understand this statement. You can ALWAYS let the trigger all the way out. Just because it is a semi-auto doesn't mean you HAVE to ride the reset. Of course, the reset riding Mafia will be along shortly to say otherwise....

It was based on a misunderstanding of the LEM system, since everyone that wrote about it was so overly concerned with staying at the point of reset, I assumed that you had to deal with the heavy double strike trigger weight if you let the trigger travel until it stopped. But Arik cleared it up for me.

I suggest before you buy you try one. If you're down in SEPA you can try mine out. Mine is a USP, not a P30 but you'll get the idea
