Hey guys,

i was shooting my 15-22 off the deck a few minuets ago and when cycling a bullet jammed and two little black pieces came out of the bolt, i believe its the firing pin but i could be wrong. Does anyone know what happened exactly and will S&W fix this for me?

Thanks a lot!

extractor popped out

you're lucky...you have all the pieces for the extractor...

there is a hole in the left side of the bolt if you look at it face on...

put the spring in, put the plunger in with the smaller diameter end in first and align the little "KEY on the side in the slot in the bolt.

now take the extractor with the hook pointing toward the center of the bolt and align it in the slot also.

hook and retract the "key" on the plunger slightly and the extractor square leg should just drop in the recess...release the plunger and you're back in business...

The bolt did not break, you have all the pieces and can put it back together. See the photo below for the order of how the pieces go back in.

im in total shock that u found all the parts,,,, i got lucky like that the other day changeing the take down pins on my 15-22 and the plunger for the front pin shot off down my carpeted hall way,,,, vacumed the whole house and cut open the vac bag and took my time and found it :-) and i thought i was lucky,,,,,,,,, but you sir are lucky

wooo its fixed and kickin brass. i just dumped two 25 round mags threw it and not one problem. And i am really lucky, my brother actually found the spring on the kitchen table where i broke it down. The rest i found on the deck, thank the lord they didn't fall threw the cracks or id be out of commission :D
