I have two firearms I need help with. First is a S&W hand ejector in 38 spl. 6" bbl, fixed sights, s/n 313537 and no model on the yoke. What model is it?
Second question is for a Colt Model 1911 US Army mfg. 1914. Has anyone ever seen this in nickle plate. I think it is supposed to be made in blue only.

That Colt is clearly buffed hard and plated. The serial number looks spurious as well. Is the USP still intact on the other side?

The M1911 has a serial number which is one of 5000 that was used by Springfield Armory (not Colt) and would have been blue and shipped in 1915. A Springfield slide would have an eagle roll marked on the slide, but yours appears to have been heavily buffed, and it may have been there at one time.

While colt.com says 1914, Coolgunsite and Clawson show No 103253 as a 1915 Springfield. Easy to have gotten a Colt slide somewhere over the last 105 years. Of course the plating pretty much kills any collector value.

The grips look nice. Either repros or unworn. Are there 11 rows of checkering between the diamonds? That would be right for Springfield.
