i am not well versed with the technical terms, so please bear with me
i have a sw 945 that i have noticed that there is some slight resistance
when i rack the slide
it seems that it is binding somewhere in the travel of the slide...it isnt
stopping the barrel from traveling, nor is it interfering with the operation
of the gun
i disassembled the gun last night, cleaned, lubed and re-assembled
(is there some trick to getting the slide catch to go completely in?...i
realize that it has something to do with where the slide lines up
to get the catch to go back in, but it took a while to get it to go...there
must be something i am doing wrong and i dont want to force it)
i lightly lubed the barrel, which is one spot that might be where the resistance is
i also lubed where the hammer moves over the slide too
the gun wasnt that dirty and upon re-assembling, the slide moved better,
but the resistance is still there
i see no wear on the barrel where it could be hanging up....nor do i see
any on the internal rails, where the slide moves
any ideas or suggestions?
thanks in advance
oh, btw, i compared the slide travel to the 3913 and cs45 that i
have and these move smoothly, with no resistance
