I have a chance to buy a 4 screw Model 25 no dash with new target grips and no box that's probably a 95% gun. The asking price is $1200. Is that out of line? also avalible to me is a lnib 657 8 3/8" in the box with paperwork and tools for $800 and a 24-3 4" that has an action job for $669. Are any of these out of line?

TOMMYJOE, in my area, $1200.00 for the model 25 no dash in the condition you escribee is way out of line. $800.00 for the stainless 41 ,ag is also high, I think most anywhere in that barrel length. The deal I think is the model 24-3 4", considering there is no push off on the action job. Of course my opinion is worth what you paid for it.

Thanks for the info 50. I thought the 4 screw model 25 would be worth a little more than a 25-2 but didn't know how much more.

There are two seperate market prices. One is an internet price which is way over the top most times. The other is an across the counter price which is more down to earth. The 25 is over by about $400 to $500 in the open market.
Thats not to say someone wouldn't pay that much.

Based on my limited (MA!) experience, this seems to be true. In certain ways, it doesn't make sense, but it's true, anyway.
