Help with Grips

I found these grips today and bought them thinking they were K frame, got home and tried them on, they dont fit my K frames, but they do fit my N frames. I dont have a time period N frame for them. Im guessing since they are diamond grips, the prefix to the serial number (146751)should be an S but Im definitely not very knowledgeable on grips. If that is the case would I be right in saying they are off of an N frame from the 50s?

Here are some pictures, I guess that is the serial number on the inside panel pictured. What would be the value of these in excellent shape?

Very nice set of N frame magnas.
North (well north) of a hundred bucks in that condition.
I think they were used up through the mid '60's and yes, on S prefixed revolvers.

Please note they have been refinished. S&W did not use any finish on the back side. They were raw. They are in very nice condition and I think a bit higher at $150.

If you say you found them at a garage sale for 5 bucks I'm gonna puke. They would (conservatively) go for around $75 +/- at the big monthly gun show here.

Here you go...grips arrived last week and fit my Pre 27 like they were made for it. Here are a couple shots from the range today. The gun is serial numbered S139xxx. It has a 3 1/2" barrel and has been well-loved. There is some blue wear on the high spots, but no rust. To me, the blue wear is like a patina on a nice antique. The stocks are great and the gun shot like we all would expect it to.

Nice match, glad they worked well. The package looks really good. 27s in excellent condition are great but it's nice to see one that has been used for it's intended purpose, to shoot the heck out of.
