I am looking to verify whether or not the holster I have for a Model 24-3 3" .44 Special Combat revolver is the same holster that was marketed by Lew Horton back in the early 80's when these guns first came out.
I note the stampings on the back of the holster, but haven't a clue how to decode them. I bought the holster off eBay because it looked exactly like the ones I've seen for the 3" Combat; the seller didn't know anything about the holster except that it was for an N frame. As you can see, it fits the 44 Combat perfectly and looks like the real deal.
The holster is smooth black leather with a dark brown suede lining.
Here's a couple pictures.
I have a Model 624 3" Combat I bought back in the day that came with a pancake style holster for a few bucks more. The bag was marked identifying the holster to be specifically for the 624 Combat.
As to the proper holster for the 24-3 3" Combat, do any of you 24-3 experts happen to have one of these holsters and/or can otherwise confirm that this is the holster Lew Horton marketed for the 24-3 3" Combat?
Thanks in advance for your help.
