Help with identifying

I need help identifying this revolver and hope I'm in the right forum. I apologize if I'm not. 3 inch barrel, 5 shot swing-out cylinder. Smith & Wesson on the left side of barrel and 38 S&W Special CTG on the right side of the barrel. Under the yoke is the manufacturing number with the number 9 stamped under it, and a K stamped above it. Serial number under barrel, on the cylinder and under the butt is 79446. I only see 2 screws. I hope the pictures help. Thank you.

That's a "pre model 36" Chiefs Special with 3" tapered barrel. Serial number indicates 1956-ish shipping date per SCSW. A nice little concealed-carry, home defense, or woods gun. I have several Chiefs but prefer the 2" barrel.
There is a third sideplate screw hiding under the grip panel. Check the inside of the RH (?) grip, the serial number should be stamped there if they are original to the gun. Depending on what part of the country you live in and condition, that gun is probably worth somewhere between 350 and $450. The original grips, factory box, cleaning kit, and/or paperwork that came with it are all value adders.
