Just bought a S&W Model PC1911-2 Doug Koenig Pistol in .38 Super. Anyone recommend a brand of mags that work best for it? First .38 Super so have no history with them.

TIA

Mec-Gar makes an excellent 9 round .38 Super magazine for 1911 pistols. They are really well made and 100% reliable. You can find them at GunMag Warehouse via their eBay store at $18 each, shipped.

I use Wilson mags in all my Smith 1911s. Work great. A bit pricey, though. I have the Koenig gun in .45ACP. Didn't much care for the straight trigger, so changed to the more standard 3-hole curved version. Great gun!!! .38 Super would be pretty rare, I would think. That caliber was VERY popular among gangsters in the 20s-30s. Like a .357 magnum auto ;)
You can still get some VERY hot loadings in .38 Super...

38 SUPER +P Pistol & Handgun Ammunition

Winchester Silvertip is also a pretty hot +P load, but VERY expensive!!!

Winchester 38 Super+P **NOT FOR REVOLVERS ** 125gr SilverTip HP Ammunition 50rds - X38ASHP

I've got a rock Island Armory .38 Super 1911 but still haven't gotten out to the range to shoot it. :)
