Help with RM certificate

After 30 years in the postal service I thought I could read anything, but I’m having trouble with the calligraphy. I got the Frantz Jr part, but anyone have any idea what this guys first name is or how to find out more about him?

Do you have the gun that goes along with the certificate? The 8-3/8” barrel length is pretty scarce. It is estimated only 38 were shipped with that barrel length. Submitting an inquiry to the Smith & Wesson Historical Foundation may yield additional information about the revolver and its original owner.

Photos of the gun to go with certificate. Was a little concerned about refinish because of the made in USA stamp, but all the other stamps are crisp and clear and pins are rounded. Finish looks a little splotchy because it’s very oily.

Some quick research by my niece shows a Louis Frantz that was married in Aberdeen in 1938. I not very knowledgeable about this ancestor research stuff.

Certainly a target style hammer, it doesn't look King from those pictures, Some closer pictures, and one from the top down, would maybe answer the question.

With calligraphy the Jr looks more like a Sr to me. The F it resembles has ancient Spanish, Portuguese and Italian frequent substitution with the letter S.

The middle initial looks like a "S" to me. If that's an "S", then it's a "Jr"
