Several years ago I viewed an online article about writer having a new LCR. He felt the rectangular shape of the Monogrip might be reshaped at the heel of its grip perpendicular by removing rubber — rendering it kind've like other round butt grips. I am referring to the Hogue grip with finger grooves and substantially more shock absorbing material than the shorter Hogue "boot" grip that has rubber forming grip-height verticals along front and rear of grip frame and hard plastic covering most of side panels. (I cannot remember what the "hideout grips" are really named.)
Using some sort of roto tool, he was successful in substantially reducing LCR's grip from printing beneath a light shirt or windbreaker. I archived the article for some time in the distant future when I would buy a roto grinder and a Monogrip to create an LCR grip that my arthritic fingers could control with full 357 Magnum ammunition. With my "hideout" grip, my secure grip is secure for up to two 357 shots.
Well, I bought a Monogrip but, of course, I can neither locate my archived article nor find it or anything similar online. I don't really trust my memory to do the job without a crutch. Anyone who has a copy of this article or a similar article, I request a PM. If you have successfully, or experienced a total washout of such a modification of the Monogrip, I request a PM.
