I've used Thunderbird for years and I heard Mozilla sold it to another company. Att is my provider

It doesn't work anymore on either computer. I've reinstalled, reconfigured and it won't sign in.

I can access email through Yahoo mail but I have to sign in every couple weeks and find my way to the web page whereas having a client like Thunderbird ls really handy as it finds and sorts mail much faster.

One of my machines is Win 10 and the other is Win 7.

I tried some other brands but they want subscriptions.

Do you have any suggestions for me? Can Thunderbird still work or is there another email client available? I suppose I could try Edge on the Win 10 machine.

I can't provide any advice other than to say I use Thunderbird on several machines with Windows 7 & 10 and it works with all of them.
The version I'm using on this Windows 10 computer is 78.6.0, 32 bit.

I've been using it for years on my windows 8.1 computer and it's still working fine.

Thunderbird wasn't exactly sold by Mozilla. It was shifted to a wholly owned subsidiary of Mozilla called MZLA Technologies. I'm still using it, and it works for me. If I recall there were problems when telling Thunderbird to set itself up automatically for my email provider. I had to do the setup manually to get it to work.

I use Thunderbird and also have ATT-recently mine also quit working with ATT.
ATT mail requires a separate generated special pass code for Thunderbird to work.
I had mine working fine until I assume a update broke the spell.
I retried by using a new generated code to no avail-silly lengths we have to go through just because of the dishonest thieves in this world.
I am now just forwarding all my mail to my Hotmail account and Thunderbird still works fine with that.

I would need a lot more detail on what it's doing or not doing.

Do you get any error messages?

Does it complain about your credentials?

Have you gone into the settings and checked:
  • credentials
  • server address
  • type of log in

AT&T has a nasty habit of changing email setting/policies without notifying people. I once spent a week fixing people's email that AT&T broke.
